Apollo Nida is speaking out from his jail cell and claims that his estranged wife, Phaedra Parks is still not letting him see the two boys he fathered while he was happily married to the Real Housewives of Atlanta star. According to Life & Style, Nida, who will be locked away for eight years behind bars in a Kentucky prison, still hasn't seen his two sons, Ayden, 4, and Dylan, 2.

"I've told her I really need to see them and that I need that support," Apollo revealed to the website in an exclusive interview from Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. "But it's still up in the air. It's as if I have to jump through hoops from behind bars."

Nida claims that he does have conversations with his son on the phone, but that isn't like seeing them in person. "It makes them sad that Daddy isn't home with them."

In the season finale of the Real Housewives of Atlanta on Sunday, Apollo told Peter Thomas that he hasn't seen his sons, "I still haven't seen my children, but I'm holding up." Nida revealed during his phone call to Peter. He also shared that other family members had been to Kentucky to see him, but not his kids, nor his estranged wife.

"My brother's been up here for times, and she won't let him get the kids to bring them, and I need to see my children." Nida said.

"You gotta keep strong, because when you come home, they're going to need their daddy," Peter told his friend.

"I'm not sure when we will see Apollo," Phaedra admitted. She claims the distance is why she hasn't taken her boys to see their father. "Kentucky's not a hop, skip, and jump away from Atlanta. These facilities have rules for children I had to call the ward to see when an infant would even be welcomed into a prison...so it's not like, 'oh I could just go."'

"Whether I choose to have my children see their father in prison or if I don't take them, someone is going to be unhappy," Phaedra claimed. "It's a no-win situation."

Apollo revealed that he is trying to move closer to Atlanta during his short prison phone call.

"I'm moving on with my life, and my son's are moving on with their lives, we are survivors," Phaedra said.
