'Impact Wrestling' Announcer Taz Quits TNA Due to Payment Issues

TNA Wrestling has been in a state of flux as of late just when things were on the up-and-up after signing Destination America. Problems with payment lead to several wrestlers voicing their gripe about not getting paychecks. One such talent that has been really fed up over not receiving his money was TNA's top announcer, Taz and this week he left the company. His leaving isn't all that surprising though, because over the last few weeks he has voiced his opinion on the matter during their Impact Wrestling shows.

TNA's Executive Vice President, John Gaburick made the announcement on Twitter this week. Despite his sudden departure, it was a peaceful sendoff.

After 5+ years TNA & Taz have mutually decided to part ways. A champ in the ring & on the mic, we wish him nothing but success! @OfficialTAZ

Taz followed that Tweet up with Tweets of his own. It followed the same respectful tone as Gaburick's.

Taz joined TNA's broadcast booth in 2009 after a successful stint of broadcasting in WWE with the Smackdown and ECW brands alongside Michael Cole and Joey Styles. His most successful broadcasting stint may have come in the early 2000's when he announced a Smackdown roster with mammoth stars in Brock Lesnar, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Edge, Batista, Chris Benoit, John Cena and the Undertaker.

Now we'll have to wait and see where Taz will land next. WWE isn't the only game in town right now. Organizations like Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground and New Japan Pro-Wrestling would clamor for a broadcasting talent like Taz.
