Following the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens newest trailer, Marvel Comics is giving the galaxy's smoothest gambler and smuggler his own limited series. Trouble awaits for Lando Calrissian (memorably played by Billy Dee Williams) in Lando #1, from writer Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine) and artist Alex Maleev (Daredevil).

As we previously mentioned, Marvel Comics released the best-selling Star Wars #1. Writer Jason Aaron and artist John Cassady jump right into the story after the end credits of Episode IV: A New Hope. The Rebels are still celebrating after the destruction of the Death Star. With the Imperial Forces in disarray, the Rebels aim to press forward with a daring offensive attack.

In our MStars News review, we loved how Aaron brought to life the characters with his snappy dialogue. Chewbacca returns for an all-out battle with Darth Vader that is definitely must-read. In every single panel, Cassady's artwork is quite glossy and painterly, especially when it comes down to the action sequences.

In the plot synopsis, before he joined the rebellion, before he oversaw mining operations on Bespin, there was a young man named Lando. He made his way in the galaxy and getting by on good looks, charm, and an ace up his sleeve, sometimes literally. With his cyborg aide, Lobot, by his side, Lando has plans to steal one of the galaxy's most valuable ships. But evn with his swindles and unparalleled swagger, has Lando bitten off more than he can chew?

In an interview with Marvel, Soule reveals the plot behind the prequel, "Before Cloud City, before his glorious Death Star run, Lando Calrissian was just a man trying to make his way through an uncaring universe determined not to recognize that he was undeniably the coolest man in the galaxy. But Lando's got a plan to change all that... and it starts with the deal of a lifetime."

Lando #1 is expected to arrive sometime in July.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters on December 18, 2015.

Readers, are you excited to read Lando #1?
