It has been a fabulous year for Canadian singer Justin Bieber in terms of winning awards at various events. He dominated the 40th edition of the American Music Awards bagging three top titles, Sunday in Los Angeles at the NOKIA Theater.

Bieber entered the awards function with three nods this year; he surprised everyone by sweeping all the three categories, including the biggest  and the most prestigious award 'Artist of the Year'.

His winning streak continued with two more titles: Favorite Male Artist - Pop/Rock and Favorite Album- Pop/Rock.

On receiving the award, Bieber, apparently for the first time, went on an offensive against his detractors, saying that he would stay in the game for a long time. "This is for all the haters who thought that I was just here for maybe one or two years. I feel like I'm gonna be here for a very long time," said an overwhelmed Bieber, according to ABC News.

Bieber also performed two songs "As Long as You Love Me" and "Beauty & a Beat," much to the pleasure of his fans.

He also took to micro-blogging and shared his joyous feelings with his over 30 million followers at Twitter. "Loss for words tonight. Like i said as long as you BELIEVE in me i will always try to make you proud. THank you. tonight i will never forget," Bieber tweeted.

"THANK YOU TO ALL THE FANS...ALL MY #BELIEBERS...WE ARE A FAMILY. TONIGHT WAS FOR ALL OF YOU. OUR AWARDS> THANK YOU> LOVE U," the Canadian pop sensation tweeted.

Bieber went on stage with his mother Patti Mallette by his side and took the opportunity to thank her for all her support that benefited his thriving music career.

"This is my mom. This is my mom. She's little but she's beautiful. Thank you so much. I can't even think. I'm just so blown away. I want to thank you [Mallette] for just always believing in me. I want to thank just everyone," Bieber said to the crowd after having won the third award of the night, according to Zap2it.com.
