We've heard a number of names already associated with the upcoming Marvel and Sony Pictures Spider-Man reboot, which includes multiple Cinematic Universe appearances and a standalone film. So far, Dylan O'Brien, Freddie Highmore, Logan Lerman and Matteus Ward have been the young actors rumored for contention for the role of Peter Parker, but a new short list of stars leaked this week doesn't include any of these names! Find out more about the short list that names Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James below!

This short list was published over on The Wrap (via Slash Film / Gamma Squad), which explains that a casting decision will be made in less than a month. It definitely looks like a high school aged Parker is the goal, but which one of these young star will actually land the role? In fact, what do we really know about these actors? Check out some information on each below!

Nat Wolff might be the most recognizable star on this list. You can see him this year in Paper Towns, which costars Cara Delevingne and is an adaptation of Fault in Our Stars author John Green's book of the same name. The actor is 20 years old, which has us a bit concerned for the High School aspect of the character, though.

Butterfield is also pretty recognizable, having been in numerous blockbusters including Ender's Game, Hugo, and others. He's 18 and has leading man capabilities, but can he bulk up a bit for the role? Please?!

Liam James starred in The Way, Way Back, which definitely highlighted his range from comedic to dramatic in the critically acclaimed coming of age film. He's currently 18 years old, but can he pull off the confidence of the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man?

Timothee Chalamet is definitely not a recognizable name, but he was featured in one of the biggest movies of 2014: Interstellar. Though his role wasn't too important, he looks like he could be a good Parker!

Tom Holland is probably the least known actor on this list, but his upcoming roles in The Impossible and Ron Howard's The Heart of the Sea (which stars Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth) have us wondering what he'd bring to the table for Spider-Man.

One main concern for all of these names is the physicality involved in the role. We haven't seen any of these young actors in roles that would make us think they could lead the new Spider-Man, but perhaps time will tell!

Let us know what you think of this short list for Peter Parker in the comments section below!
