Bruce Jenner's second wife, Linda Thompson seems to support her ex-husband and the father of her two sons, Brody and Brandon on his transition into a woman.

After Jenner revealed his new life to the world last Friday, everyone including his kids and ex-wives have been speaking out. According to CNN, Thompson said she can "breathe a little easier" knowing her ex-husband has finally revealed that he is transgender.

Thompson knew for years that her ex-husband was hiding this secret but decided to respect his wishes in keeping Jenner's business behind closed doors.

"I have respectfully kept his secrets private and would have taken his confidences to my grave had he not spoken out," she revealed. "He can finally realize his need to be who he authentically is, who he was born to be. That takes tremendous courage. For that I commend him."

Thompson claimed that she wouldn't have tied the knot with Jenner and had his children if she knew about his desires to become a woman before they were married in the '80s.

But the mother of Brody and Brandon says her sons with Jenner are indeed her blessing.

"Looking back, I'm so grateful to God, the universe, and Bruce that I didn't know, and that Bruce played the role in my life that he did," she revealed.

"The Bruce I knew back then was an easygoing, down-to-earth, casual, romantic, good and loving man. I was extremely happy to have found such a remarkable partner with whom to share my life. I found him to be honorable and, well, just too good to be true. Just too good to be true indeed," she shared in a column to the Huffington Post.

The former "it" celebrity couple attended everything together, including red carpets, charitable fundraisers and more. Thompson believed that her ex was fine in his skin, and as the Olympic role model.

"The Bruce I knew back then was unstudied, affable, and seemingly very comfortable in his own skin," Thompson said. "So it seemed."

Thompson revealed that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star told her that he wanted to be "identified as a woman" in 1985. She claimed that Jenner want to undergo the process of becoming a woman as she wanted him to seek help in counseling." Confused and desperate, Thompson suggested therapy to help her understand what he was going through and "determine if it was something we could overcome or 'fix.'"

"I was pretty ignorant of the fact that being transgender isn't something that can be overcome, fixed, prayed away, exorcised or obliterated by any other arcane notion," Thompson admitted.

Jenner even wanted to go as far as going out of the country and returning as a woman called Heather. "He considered traveling out of the country for gender-confirmation surgery and returning to the United States identifying as female, where his children could meet him as 'Aunt Heather.'"

Thompson and Jenner called it quits after going to therapy, as Jenner started to take "female hormones and removing his hair through electrolysis."

Soon after his transformation started, Jenner had breasts, and his children began to notice. Thompson claims that Brody and Brandon's dad went "MIA" when he married his third wife, Kris Jenner.

But now isn't the time for bashing Jenner for his absence. She is all forgiving now.

Thompson said Jenner had "been held prisoner in his own flesh and hopes that his life will get easier now. In addition to world's greatest athlete, she hopes people will remember him as trailblazer for the civil rights of the transgender community."

She even uploaded a photo of Jenner's Olympic days and wrote: "Once a champion of Olympian magnitude...now a champion for those who share the struggle to just be who they are."
