This has been a largely sad and dark Season 3 of Arrow, and it's about to get darker with the loss of a beloved mainstay of the series. No, it's not Felicity or Diggle or Laurel. It's the Arrow Cave!

Yes, Oliver's lair for the better part of three years will apparently disappear, according to showrunner Marc Guggenheim. The following comes from the "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online:

"Sophia: I'll take whatever spoilers you have on Arrow!
Here's some not-so-great news: the Arrow cave is dunzo. '[Team Arrow is] going to end up hanging out a great deal at Palmer Technologies,' executive producer Marc Guggenheim says. 'We had to expand Ray's workshop to allow for scenes with now suddenly a whole large group of people rather than just Ray and Felicity. So we did a little bit of set redesign and set redecoration. That basically is the lair for the remainder of the season. That said, you haven't seen the last of the lair yet. It makes one final appearance in [episode] 21.'"

Let's all have a moment of silence for the Arrow Cave and remember fondly those glass cases that held all the costumes.

In case you missed it, here is the official description for said episode, entitled "Al Sah-Him":

"THE LEAGUE OF ASSASSINS SETS THEIR SIGHTS ON NYSSA - Oliver (Stephen Amell) goes through a rigorous transformation. The League of Assassins sets their sights on Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), who is back in Starling City training Laurel (Katie Cassidy). When Nyssa realizes they are coming, she arms up to face them alone but Laurel asks Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Diggle (David Ramsey) to help protect her new friend. Thor Freudenthal directed the episode with story by Beth Schwartz and teleplay by Brian Ford Sullivan & Emilio Ortega Aldrich (#321)."
