"The Carol Burnett Show" co-production company is suing actress/comedienne Carol Burnett for allegedly not sharing proceedings that generated from a home distribution video deal.

Burnett and her Whacko Inc is in  legal trouble for not involving Bob Banner Associates, the production company behind the popular television show, in a 2012 deal with various video marketing companies.

"The show and reunion episodes have been distributed in syndication via home-video licenses to Columbia House, Guthy-Renker and Time Life. The spinoff, 'Mama's Family', also continues in syndication and home video distribution," reported Deadline.

The popular "The Carol Burnett Show", which was aired between 1967 and 1972, was co-procured by late Bob Banner's company, Bob Banner Associates. He died in 2011. The company has made a case at the Los Angeles Superior Court against Burnett and her Whacko Inc., demanding a fair share of profit.

According to news reports, BBA has sought accounting of revenues from "The Carol Burnett Show" spinoff show "Mama's House" and reunion specials. BBA hold the copyrights to the first five seasons of the show.

The show has been released on DVD, with episodes specifically chosen by Burnett and company. The original stars have also reunited for several specials, much to the delight of fans. And Burnett has enjoyed a huge following and successful career post "Burnett Show," reported Christianpost.

The plaintiff has claimed that "it has received no accounting or compensation for exploitation of the episodes in question". Additionally, according to the suit, Burnett has never clearly repudiated BBA's co-ownership, reported Deadline. "BBA charges Burnett/Whacko with breach of fiduciary duty, unfair business practice and seeks a full accounting of revenue and profits plus damages, interest and court costs."
