What did 41-year-old Floridian Melissa Miller tell law enforcement when she was pulled over on Tuesday (Nov. 20) for driving recklessly at 100 mph in a 30 mph zone - God told her do it. According to police reports, Miller was speeding down a residential street on U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce and manically honking her horn when officers eventually chased her down and pulled her over. Apparently, Miller was sent a divine message of guidance from the Man Upstairs himself to drive dangerously and erratically down the busy highway. But it looks like the law overrides God's mysterious ways - Miller was promptly arrested for reckless driving and had bail set at $375.

Miller was driving a silver Toyota down U.S. 1 - blasting the horn and flailing her arms out of the driver-side window at dangerously high speeds - when a police officer engaged in a heated car chase pursuit. The arresting officer claims he ordered Miller to pull her vehicle over several times, but she would not listen and instead increased her speed even more. Several other officers joined the chase after Miller began swerving erratically over two lanes of traffic - barely missing the curb and nearly running down too other cars - until she finally came to a stop after she exited the major highway.

A police report alleges that when officers finally questioned Miller as to why she was driving so fast and erratically, she responded - "Because I was letting the Lord's spirit guide me." God apparently "wanted her" to blow her horn and breeze down U.S. 1 at 100 mph. Following her arrest, Miller did insist that she was sorry for her actions, but she was indeed consciously aware of just how fast she was going during the heated pursuit.

Miller was promptly booked at the Port St. Lucie County Jail and charged with reckless driving and violation of her probation for leaving the scene of an accident with injuries. She was being held on a $375 bail - wonder how God's guidance will help her with that.
