The Washington Wizards have been hobbling around basketball courts for decades. Even when they had Michael Jordan, it was a significantly worse Jordan than the one we all grew up with. This is why when John Wall entered the picture fans began to take sighs of relief. The relief once again turned to disarray after Wall was carted off the court with a debilitating hand fracture during a playoff game that was one of the more important moments in the team's history.

Right now the Wizards are talking to multiple physicians and specialists to see what they can do to get their young star back to 100%. After the examinations yesterday, it was revealed that Wall has five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand. A playoff comeback is damn near impossible.

Up until the fracture, the young Wall lead the Wizards to a franchise record five-straight playoff wins. Now that their best player looks to be off the court for a while, those NBA Finals hopes are dwindling. They can most likely add one more year to a Finals drought that has dated back as far as 1979.

The Wizards are a disastrous 10 - 40 when Wall sits out. This is why when they ended up losing the game 106 - 90 it wasn't surprising. They don't seem to win when Wall's out. Wall was not just an important piece to the Wizards' puzzle because from day one he was a Wizard, born-and-bred. Wall was the first foundational all-star drafted and developed by the organization since Wes Unseld. With him out, it's as if their heart is missing.

The series is currently tied at 1 - 1 and the Wizards are heading to the Verizon Center for Game 3. Right now the veteran Boston great and former NBA Champion Paul Pierce will have to lead the team to a miraculous victory.
