USA's 'Mr. Robot': Christian Slater, Rami Malek's New Promo Before 'Suits' Season 5 Premiere!

USA Network has released an all-new promo for their upcoming hacker drama, Mr. Robot. Ahead of the show's June premiere, along with the Season 5 premiere of Suits, check out the exciting new teaser featuring Christian Slater (Pump Up The Volume) and Rami Malek (The Pacific).

As we previously mentioned, Mr. Robot centers on a young and isolated programmer named Elliot (Malek). Suffering from an anti-social disorder, Elliot can only connect to people by actually hacking them. Elliot is then recruited to join an underground hacker organization determined to bring down corporate America by a mysterious anarchist named Mr. Robot (Slater).

During a set visit by the New York Times, the cast and crew describe the themes behind the smart and gritty drama. In his grad scheme, Mr. Robot wants to erase all records of student loan and credit card debt, in order to create "the single biggest incident of wealth redistribution in history."

Slater describes his character, "We usually think of superheroes as the ones who can beat people up and save the day. But the real superheroes are the guys who can make those keyboards sing. He who controls the Internet can potentially control the world."

Creator/showrunner Sam Esmai adds, "It's an indictment of the current capitalist system. I don't think capitalism is a bad idea, but we've perverted it so that it's actually not even capitalism anymore ... it's heavily regulated in a corrupt way that benefits the wrong people."

As we mentioned before, the marketing campaign is running out ads that bleep out the four letter word but it's not difficult to fill in the blanks. The ads display, "F-k Wall Street," "F-k Society," "F-k Social Media," "F-k the System, " which are all in tune to Elliot's disillusioned character.Since the drama is aimed for adults and not for children, the ads are expected to run online.

Mr. Robot will premiere Wednesday, June 24 at 10pm on USA. The fifth season premiere of Suits will air beforehand that very same night at 9pm.
