At one point Quentin Tarantino's Hateful Eight script was dead in the water. The famed Pulp Fiction director sued Gawker after the site shared the film's entire screenplay online. Tarantino's wish fell on dead ears though after a judge eventually tossed his legal gripe out. These days, however, Tarantino is singing a different, more positive tune regarding the lawsuit. According to him, he regrets suing the media company.

Tarantino made the admission to Entertainment Weekly:

"I almost regret the whole suing Gawker because it actually took the light off of what was important," Tarantino said. "My whole thing wasn't against Gawker, it was against Hollywood practices that have just been considered okay."

Despite having a change of heart about the lawsuit, Tarantino is still disappointed someone close to him may have leaked the script online. According to the interview, he believes one of the perpetrators had to have been Bruce Dern, Tim Roth or Michael Madsen – three of the Hateful Eight stars.

"There were scenes that I wasn't even ready to write yet, situations I hadn't even figured out yet," Tarantino continued. "That's why it was so not ready for anybody but just a couple of the inner circle."

Fans should be happy to know, though, that the script has been revived and production for the movie is currently underway. In the last year he made a few key changes –– one of those being the ending.

Joining Dern, Roth and Madsen in the Hateful Eight are Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell. Jackson will play Major Marquis Warren, Leigh will be Daisy Domergue and Russell will take on the role of John "The Hangman" Ruth.

Also in the Entertainment Weekly article, Tarantino labels the film as having a Reservoir Dogs-esque vibe to it.

"For me it has more of a Western Iceman Cometh kind of vibe about it," says Tarantino. The film also takes a belt from the bottle of the director's first film Reservoir Dogs. "A bunch of guys in a room who can't trust each other," he says. "That wasn't a marching order when I sat down to write the script, but pretty quickly I realized this is kind of a nice coming-full-circle."
