Britney Spears 'X Factor' Judge Turns 31, Cheers and Happy Birthday to Queen of Pop

The year 2012 has been a successful one for the Queen of Pop, Britney Spears, who celebrated her birthday Dec. 2. The talented judge of "The X Factor" turned 31 .

Britney thanked her fans for the birthday wishes, posting on Facebook - "Having an absolutely wonderful birthday. Thanks so much for the sweet wishes - I love you all!!! xxoo."

Britney's fans got together and performed a flash mob, dancing to her music in San Francisco's Union Square Dec. 2 as a birthday tribute, Examiner reported.

Britney signed a contract worth $15 million with Fox for "The X factor" reality television show. She is on the panel of judges that includes veterans L.A. Reid, Simon Cowell and newcomer Demi Lovato.

"Just really being able to be there and inspire the other contestants ... they're so young and they're trying to fulfill their dreams," said Britney about the show. "It's just a whole beautiful concept. It's just really cool."

Britney is training two contestants on the show, Diamond White and Carly Rose Sonenclar.

This year Britney's fortunes have improved a little bit. Apart from being a judge on "X Factor", she released a collaborative track with Will.i.am which went number 1 on iTunes.

The video for her recent track "Scream and Shout" with Will.i.am was released recently. The track went on to become the number one track on iTunes. Britney responded in a Tweet, Nov. saying "#ScreamingAndShouting! #1 on iTunes, this is amazing. Congrats @iamwill, so happy 2 share this moment w U! And thx 2 all our beautiful fans!"

A judge dismissed the defamation case filed by Sam Lutfi, Britney's former manager against her and her parents, Nov. 2.

"It was a very weak case," said juror Veronica Jones, E! News reported. "We weren't given a lot of evidence to support or to come to any conclusions. I wasn't convinced he had a case, a real strong case...I kept wondering how it got this far for so many years with the facts that they had."

Lynne, Britney's Mom and Jamie Spears, Britney's sister were sued by Lutfi for libel, breach of contract and battery. It was Lynne's memoir "Through the Strom" that sparked Lutfi to file for defamation.

Last year, Britney's boyfriend and former agent Jason Trawick, decided to marry her by slipping a four-carat, round-cut diamond on her finger, shortly after she turned 30.
