Richard Gere and Robert Pattinson Go Out for Lunch

Hollywood star, Richard Gere and "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson attended a luncheon, Dec. 1. The lunch was in honor of Richard Gere's new Oscar-caliber movie, "Arbitrage" , at Los Angeles' Osteria Mozza. There are reports that Richard Gere could be looking at an Oscar Award for his performance.

 "Twilight" actor Robert Pattinson, 26, attended the luncheon without his actress girlfriend Kristen Stewart. Pattinson was dressed in semi-formals with a black T-shirt, denim jacket, black overcoat and black pants. The "Twilight" star looked fresh after finishing his promotional tour for the new movie, "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part 2".

Both Gere and Pattinson posed for photographs. Gere, 63, was dressed in a gray blazer, blue shirt and blue jeans.

The luncheon was part of the promotion event for Gere's new movie.

Nicholas Jarecki, the director of the movie was also present at the luncheon. This movie is his directional debut.

Gere had this to say about the "Twilight" actor, "He was a perfectly nice guy, but I had no idea. But I was getting calls from my wife going, 'What are you doing with him? He's so cute, but what are you doing with him?'" E! Online reported.

When asked what reaction his wife, Carey Lowell had about Pattinson, he said, "My wife is aware of these things," Gere laughed. "I don't know that she's a fan."

Pattinson had to leave the place early due to another lunch with Warner Bros. executives at Soho House to discuss a new movie.

The movie is about a 60-year-old hedge fund manager, Richard Miller, who has concocted his company's books to cover an investment loss and to avoid being put behind bars. Miller, while going in a car dozes off and has an accident that takes the life of his wife. He tries to cover the accident case too. He also avoids the police investigating the case. Miller's intelligent daughter discovers that her father has committed a fraud.

The movie was released in U.S. Sept. 14. The movie received 86 percent in Rotten Tomatoes. The movie also stars Susan Sarandon, Tim Roth and Brit Marling.
