One of the cool directors, Seth MacFarlane also an animator and comedian, said that there will be a "Family Guy" movie in the future.

"It's just a matter of when," said  MacFarlane before adding, "It's hard to do that while you have the series going on at the same time; I think that's why it took 'The Simpsons' 20 seasons to figure out how to do it," Entertainment Weekly reported.

The director promises the movie will be more successful than the "The Simpsons" movie that was made in 2007.

"We do know what the Family Guy movie will be. The Simpsons movie, I thought, was hilarious, but the one criticism I would have is that it's a story they probably could've done on TV. There could've been an episode that had that plotline," he said. "That's the challenge with animation. You pretty much can do any story you want, so what is the reason for the movie? We finally hit on the answer to that question, and it will be something that would be impossible to do on TV."

MacFarlane was speaking to students at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA ), primarily about him hosting the 2013 Oscars. There was a disappointed groan among students when he did not reveal more about the forthcoming animated movie and said, "I can't tell you what that is."

The "Family Guy" movie will have an R-rating. The "Family Guy" is an animated sitcom that MacFarlane created for Fox. MacFarlane is the creator, developer and provides voices for Peter Griffin, Brian Griffin and Stewie Griffin characters in "Family Guy."

The success of his last movie, "Ted" that made over $400 million worldwide in the box office, has made MacFarlane think about his next venture. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. MacFarlane is seemingly working on "Ted 2" Screen Crush reported.
