Earlier today, we learned a key piece of information about the CW's Arrow/Flash spinoff, entitled DC's Legends of Tomorrow: the identity of the character played by Caity Lotz. Now, the network has released a first-look trailer for the series!

Check it out below:

Lotz's character, Sara Lance, died in the Season 3 premiere of Arrow, so it was unclear how the Black Canary would return. But now the network has revealed her identity!

Comic Book Resources has posted the official teaser image for the spinoff, which shows that Lotz portrays White Canary. Check it out here.

We also know the show will premiere as part of the network's midseason lineup, and we know the CW has ordered it to series. And it sounds like the show will be epic in scope based on the official description:

"When heroes alone are not enough... the world needs legends. Having seen a future he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat -- one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they've ever known?"

Could this have something to do with the "Crisis" we've seen in the future newspaper on The Flash? Or is it some other threat? And could the time travel aspect of the show explain how Caity Lotz's deceased character of Sara Lance/Canary appears on the show as White Canary?

The series recently cast its final mystery character. English actor Franz Drameh, who appeared in Edge of Tomorrow, has been cast as Jay Jackson, a former high school athletes whose professional career was cut short by an injury. He went on to work as an auto mechanic but develops an interesting connection with the team at S.T.A.R. Labs.

According to TVLine, the original breakdown for the role, codenamed “Mystery Hero,” described the character as a “regular, street smart guy who unexpectedly gains powers, and then, as part of the team, regularly quips about the insanity of the situations.” Early speculation on this character labeled him as Static, Black Vulcan, or Black Lightning.

Drameh's casting completes the trio of new additions to the spinoff. Arthur Darvill from Doctor Who has been cast as the time traveler Rip Hunter, while Ciara Renee has been cast as Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl.

The series also contains a host of characters from Arrow and The Flash. From Arrow, Brandon Routh will star as Ray Palmer aka The Atom and Caity Lotz returns, though it's unclear if she will reprise her role as the now-deceased Sara Lance aka Canary. From The Flash, Wentworth Miller comes over as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell plays Mick Rory aka Heatwave, and Victor Garber portrays Martin Stein aka one half of Firestorm (the other half is Robbie Amell's Ronnie Raymond).
