Thomas Ravenel Regrets Breaking Up with Baby Mama Kathryn C. Dennis on Social Media

It looks like Thomas Ravenel is regretting the public breakup he exacted over Facebook with his baby mama, Kathryn Calhoun Dennis! In a new interview with Bravo, the Southern Charm star admitted that he should have text messaged her instead of putting their business out on display for everyone to see during his run for Senate.

MStars News previously reported that Thomas was accused of assaulting Kathryn's hair stylist, and instead of running to his aid, Kat decided to stay on vacation, leaving her man to fix his issues back in Charleston alone. Kathryn's lack of support ultimately made Thomas announce their breakup via social media.

Thomas claims that he was hurt by Kathryn when she decided to stay in Jekyll Island instead of coming home.

"I didn't really know how to respond at first, but then I realized that I was disappointed and hurt," he said. "I needed support. I really needed support at that time."

When asked about his break up on Facebook Thomas said that he "absolutely" regretted dumping her over the Internet.

"Perhaps I should've just texted her. Paul Simon says it best in his song 'Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover' ... which predates Facebook," the reality TV star said. "Perhaps he can rewrite the song to, '50 Ways to Leave Your Lover on Social Media.' Seriously, my impulse was fueled by emotions which turned into the action of breaking up on Facebook. I regret that. I could have put myself on a 24 hour wait list for breaking up. I could have handled the situation better by taking the time to think about how I felt. To calm down, in order to make an honest assessment of the situation, starting with arranging a time we could meet at a public place to have a face to face conversation. That would have been more courageous and shown more integrity."

As for his run for office, Thomas claims that he may run again, but his main focus right now is his daughter, Kensie.

"I love politics, interacting with people and the challenge of creating solid changes in the government, Ravenel stated. "However, if I do get the urge to run again I am going to start flushing 100 dollar bills down the toilet until the urge passes. As far as future career plans, I will continue to develop real-estate, and keep my main focus on my daughter."

Kathryn and Thomas share a 1-year-old together. The 23-year-old star previously talked about motherhood and how she's adapting to her new relationship with Thomas.
