The CW Network has released the trailer to their upcoming new superhero drama, Legends of Tomorrow. Desperate times call for desperate measures Arrow (Stephen Amell) asks White Canary (Caity Lotz), Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), and The Atom (Brandon Routh) to form the new DC Comics team.

As we previously mentioned, the stakes have risen so high that Arrow (Amell) and The Flash (Grant Gustin) are not enough. Having seen the apocalyptic future, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is tasked with assembling a misfit group of heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat. To save time itself and the entire planet, can this ragtag team defeat their immortal threat?

Check out our 5 thoughts on the first look trailer of Legends of Tomorrow:

5) She's White Canary Now!

The third season of Arrow started with the shocking death of Sarah Lance (Lotz). Someone went through all the trouble digging the murdered assassin out of her grave and dumping her into the Lazarus Pit. Ra's Al Ghul warned the Pit does something strange to the mind once the person is resurrected. Is this the Sarah we all know and love? And how freaking hot is she when Sarah jumps out of the water!

4) Which Version Of Hawkgirl Is This?

Ciara Renee made her first appearance during the season finale of The Flash. During Fast Enough, she was witnessing the black hole swallowing up Central City and spreading beyond. Maybe the tear in the time stream made her "past lives complex" awaken, as Martin Stein (Victor Garber) says. Because of continuity changes in the comics, Hawkgirl was once the the reincarnated Egyptian princess Chay-Ara, a super villain, and Hawkwoman at one point.

3) He's A Time Lord...I Mean Time Master!

Stunt-casting at its best, Arthur Darvill is playing a time traveler from an alternate future. The Doctor Who companion is wearing a trench coat and has long hair, much like the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith). Hunter knows the team will eventually defeat Randal Savage but they're probably going to die doing so.

2) He Can't Be The Hero!

Stealing the show again like he did in Superhero Fight Club, Captain Cold (Miller) says, "I can't imagine being the hero in any future." In Rogue Air, Cold just let loose the metahuman prisoners, making sure they all owe him a favor. My favorite part of the trailer is when White Canary and The Flash strike a pose while the Atom and Captain Cold are shooting at the giant robot leg.

1) Did He Just Shrink Down To Size!?!

Saving the best for last, the Atom (Routh) shows off what his suit can really do. When we last saw Ray Palmer, he suddenly blew himself up in his own lab during the season three finale of Arrow. It turns out Ray missed the explosion because he shrunk down to size. Now if he can travel through telephone lines like in the comics, we're all set!

Legends of Tomorrow will premiere during the 2016 midseason on the CW.
