Adele failed to register her newborn baby within the 42-day legal deadline and now she faces a 1,000 euro fine.

The British singer gave birth to a boy Oct. 19 but registrars confirmed that neither she nor her fiance, Simon Konecki, have registered their child, Entertainmentwise.com said Sunday. The couple can expect some warning letters if the birth has not been registered by the next few weeks, however, the report added that the issue is not something serious to worry about.

"Cops are hardly going to be banging on their door tomorrow and it's probably just an oversight on their part," a source said. "Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it's a nice thing to do - and because there's a maximum fine of £1,000 if they don't. There's loads of reasons why parents are late and millions of couples don't bother for ages."

All throughout her pregnancy, the "Rolling in the Deep" singer tried to keep her private life out of the spotlight and she continues to do so even after though she gave birth: the child's name still have not been revealed to the public. Rumors surfaced over the summer that the singer and Konecki has secretly married, after she was spotted wearing a gold band on her wedding finger during a stroll in London. But she put the reports to rest by posting on Twitter, "I'm not married...Zzzzzzz."

The 24-year-old's album, "21," recently crossed the 10 million mark, according to The Inquisitr. It spent 80 weeks in the top 10 on the music charts and 24 non-consecutive weeks in the No. 1 spot. She also won six Grammy Awards for "21."

Adele has not kept silent about her desire to become a mom.

"I really want to be a mum," she told People magazine in February, saying she wanted to have three sons by the age of 30. "I better start getting on with it!"
