'Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings' Game Coming To Xbox One & Steam For Summer Release Date!

Developer Metalhead Software is adding new features to its award-winning baseball videogame. Available now on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings is making its way to the Xbox One and Steam for a summer release date.

According to IGN, the game was released last year on the PS3 and PS4. This latest version of the baseball sim game will include two new stadiums and several unspecified new features. The new improvements and content will make its way to PlayStation through an update, or possibly a free DLC pack.

From the official website, the game's features include realistic simulation and physics. With up to four players, gamers can choose from local co-op play or solo play. You can either go head-to-head with a fellow gamer or co-op against the CPU. With easy to learn controls, players will have ultra responsive and fast gameplay, which makes diving, wall-catches, power-swings fun to watch.

From the press release, Metalhead co-founder Scott Drader states, "Right now there are few options for quality, accessible sports titles on the market, particularly when it comes to baseball games on the Xbox One and PC. We're really looking to put this genre back on the map for more casual fans, especially the younger generation of gamers who haven't had access to the types of games that were common during their parents' generation. Games that could introduce a sport to the uninitiated and turn them into fans for life."

Though the Super Mega Baseball blog doesn't mention a specific date during the 2015 summer, the developers will provide more details once they're further along.
