'XCOM 2' Gameplay Trailer, 2015 Release Date News [WATCH VIDEO]

This week we can officially confirm a full sequel to the hit 2012 turn-based video game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, simply titled XCOM 2. Development studio 2K teased what most of us thought was a new game entitled "Advent" earlier this month, but fans are sure to be pleased that this sequel was announced as the newest title. According to IGN, who exclusively broke this announcement on its "First" update of June, we can expect this sequel to hit shelves in November of this year on PC. The gaming website will reveal more details over the course of this month, as it usually does with the "First" series, so make sure to check back as we are sure to cover most of these updates here!

As we can see from this first trailer, there isn't much gameplay shown off, but we get to learn plenty of details about the game's story.

Here is the synopsis of the highly anticipated new title (via IGN):

XCOM 2 transports players 20 years into the future, where humanity lost the war against the alien threat that has established a new world order. The secret paramilitary organization known as XCOM is largely forgotten, and must strike back to reclaim control of Earth and free mankind from the aliens' rule.
