"The Voice" Top 3 were revealed after a shocking elimination of a front runner on the "Top 4 Live Results" semi-finals show on Tuesday, Dec.11.

Team Cee-Lo protege Trevin Hunte was surprisingly sent home right after his duet performance with Cee-Lo's other act Nicholas David. The elimination came as a surprise to fans because two weeks ago his rendition of Jennifer Hudson's "And I Am Telling You" bowled the judges over. Adam Levine described it as "one of the best performances (he) has ever seen" and Christina Aguilera offered to take him on tour with her and "under her wing."

Following the exit, Green later tweeted to his 18-year-old contestant: "Much love and support to @Tamor_11 - always giving it 110% This is just the beginning for you! Believe #TeamCeeLo."

Hunte tweeted there's "nothing like family." He also re-tweeted supportive comments from fans. Fans of Hunte often reminded him on the social media site that he still stands a great chance at attaining a successful singing career like Jennifer Hudson. Hudson famously achieved stardom and won an Oscar despite not becoming the final winner on the third season of "American Idol."

During his time on the show, Hunte impressed viewers with his renditions of Beyonce's "Listen," Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love," and Michael Bolton's "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You."

The Top 3 moving forward to next week's finals are Blake Shelton's acts Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope along with Team Cee Lo's last act Nicholas David.

The show opened with a duet performed by Team Blake's acts Pope and McDermott. Together they sang "Little Talks" and the show closed with a duet by Team Cee-Lo's Hunte and David, they sang Mariah Carey's classic ballad "Hero" just before the elimination.

Three "Voice" alumni also took the stage on Tuesday night. Former Team Cee Lo member Juliet Simms performed her single "Wild Child." Country singer RaeLynn, a former member of Team Blake, performed her new single "Boyfriend," and Aguilera's Season 2 finalist Chris Mann sang his song "Roads." Levine revealed that Christina's least favorite "Voice" contestant ever and his Season 2 finalist Tony Lucca was signed to his record label now.
