Bruce Jenner is saying bye to Bruce and hello to Caitlyn, but is seems that with her transition, a lot of her friends are going to need to get reintroduced to the former Olympic athlete. There has been an outpouring of support for Jenner since showing her new characteristics on the cover of Vanity Fair, and some of her friends are anxious to meet Caitlyn. Pals Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford addressed Jenner's transition on the Today show and revealed that they were both in awe of her beauty and ready to get to know the starlet.

According to Us Weekly, Hoda didn't even recognize the familiar face of the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star when producers showed her the cover of VF. "I go, 'I don't know her,'" Kotb explained.

However, during the broadcast, it seemed like Kathie Lee was feeling sad about having to say goodbye to Bruce, yet excited and proud to call Caitlyn her friend.

"There is a sense of 'Bye, Bruce,'" that co-host explained of her pal. "He was an iconic figure and he represented who goes on a Wheaties box. I loved Bruce and I still love Bruce, and I'm going to learn to love Caitlyn. I've spoken to her but I've not been in the same room with her. So when I was talking to her on the phone right before the Diane Sawyer thing, it still sounded like my friend Bruce when we were talking about the transitioning."

The host goes further to say that she is so proud of Jenner for going public with her gender identity struggles.

"I'm glad that he-she-- is being treated as lovingly in the public with this, because it does take a lot of courage to do what she's doing."
