Reports confirm that Aarthi Agarwal, a beloved 31-year-old Indian "Tollywood" actress, died from a heart attack on Friday (June 5). Approximately one month ago, Agarwal underwent liposuction surgery in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Did complications from this procedure result in the starlet's untimely death?

The "Nee Sneham" beauty's father Shashank Agarwal recently confirmed her tragic passing to the International Business Times. But according to Agarwal's manager Uma Shankar, the superstar's cosmetic surgery had nothing to do with her sudden death. Instead, Agarwal was actually battling obesity and pulmonary illness - she ultimately died on the way to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in New Jersey (via HollywoodLife.com).

Still, specific details still remain unconfirmed.

Although born in the United States, Agarwal became a Bollywood sensation at the age of 16. She really gained cinema recognition in 2001's hit film, "Nuvvu Naaku Nachav." The Daily Mail suggests that Agarwal later made it big in the "Tollywood" Telugu language film industry, but also starred in Tamil and Hindi films.

According to the Indian Express, Agarwal did allegedly attempt suicide in 2005 after ending a romantic relationship with a co-star. A few years ago, she moved back to the States to live with her parents in Egg Harbor Township (NJ).

Agarwal took a break from the business, but her latest film "Ranam 2" was just released on June 5 - the same day that she died.
