The Nintendo World Championships will soon be in full swing and a lot of great news has come out surrounding the game. For one, Kevin Pereira of G4 and the Joe Rogan Experience will be its host. Another piece of news surrounding the tournament is that it will feature a newbie to the Nintendo community, Splatoon. The third person paint shooter has not only been the biggest hit for the Wii U thus far, it might make the tournament a little more interesting now.

The finalists' dueling it out in Splatoon will be:

- Sinister1
- Cosmo
- TheMexicanRunner
- Bananas
- Essentia
- Trihex
- Jovenshire
- Arin

While these gamers are unknowns, the last Nintendo World Championships brought notoriety to its players. A guy like Thor Ackerlund found his 15 minutes of fame at the original 1990 event.

The finalists in the World Championships will not only get their hands on Splatoon. When June 14 rolls around, the NES classic, Legend of Zelda, will also be one of the games featured in it, however, it's currently unknown how Zelda will make its way into the fray.

The finals will be live streamed on June 14 at 3 p.m. PT. Two-days-later Nintendo will be breaking out some big news via a Nintendo Digital Event. Just like how Zelda will be used, it's unknown what that news will be. Whatever the case may be it'll be a big few days once June 14 rolls around.
