Singer Alicia Keys is the girl in the firing line as she has been accused of stealing a portion for her hit single "Girl on Fire."

Keys is now facing a copyright infringement suit from songwriter Earl Shuman after Roger Friedman, a music blogger for Showviz411 recognized some lines from her hit song "Girl on Fire" and mentioned that she had not given credit to the songwriters.

The blogger says, "Alicia sings a couplet or so from Eddie Holman's 1970 classic 'Hey There Lonely Girl.' The song was written by Leon Carr and Earl Shuman, who are both gone to rock and roll heaven," wrote Friedman.

Friedman thought that Shuman was dead but he was not. The songwriter did check what Friedman wrote and even posted a comment on his post.

"Hi Roger, I am the co writer of 'Hey There Lonely Girl' and I appreciate your recognizing an important part of 'Lonely Girl' in Alicia Keys' new recording. Thanks for your expertise. By the way, though my dear friend Leon Carr is in Rock and Roll Heaven, I'm still here on the ground, writing songs," wrote Shuman.

Shuman acted upon and sued Keys basing his case on the article Friedman wrote in the blog.

"Although the blog writer said that only two seconds of 'Hey There Lonely Girl' was used, Shuman claims otherwise but was sure to admit that the rest of the allegations made by Friedman against Mrs. Swizz Beatz (Keys) were accurate," Popular Critic reported.

Meanwhile, a new video of Keys called "Brand New Me" has been released. The superstar singer was seen sporting a new curly hairdo.

Defendants for the suit include Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Corporation of America.
