Following Filipino boxing star Manny Pacquiao's knockout loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in Las Vegas earlier this month, pop star Justin Bieber posted two rather offensive pics on Instagram, ridiculing Pacquiao's defeat. After receiving some initial heat for the insulting photos, reports now have it that the Philippines Congress is demanding that the Biebs release an official apology for the "distasteful comments" since they not only mocked Pacquiao, but the entire Filipino population. And apparently if Bieber doesn't oblige, he could ultimately be banned from the Philippines - for good. In a statement made by Pacquiao after the Instagram pics went viral, the popular MMA fighter simply said that he would "pray for Bieber."

Check out the Instagram pics that the 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer posted, basically ridiculing Pacquiao's knockout:

"Dad Wake Up."

"Pacquiao doing the lean with MJ... Classic moment."

Many fans weren't so amused:

Nerdyhipsta9818: "Wow Justin. Can't believe you said that. You just lost all my respect. Hope you're happy."

Danadalson: "Well, Pacquiao's our [Filipino] national hero. With all due respect to Justin, he's a big star, which makes his every move a big deal. This is just really wrong."

Audreypicart: "Yeah, it may be a joke but to some people it's not. Pacquiao blacked out. I'm sure if JB passed out and someone made fun of him like this you Beliebers would get mad. It's the same for other people. Just saying. This is mad disrespectful."

And apparently the Filipino Congress agrees. According to the U.K.'s Telegraph and a number of other news outlets, seven lawmakers have filed a resolution demanding that the teen heartthrob apologize for his very "distasteful comments ... lest he be declared persona non grata." In other words, the Biebs could ultimately be banned from the Philippines.

One congressman stated - "Mr Bieber should have known that the Hon. Pacquiao has reached his stature as such as a result of sheer hard work, determination and firm belief in God, and despite such stature best exemplifies humility and grace even in defeat."

The lawmen all agree that "it was not only Pacquiao who Bieber insulted, but also the entire population."

Following the negative backlash, Bieber released the statement: "If they were Beliebers I know they wouldn't leave my side over [a] boxing opinion I have." Meanwhile, Pacquiao simply stated that he would "pray for Justin Bieber."

So what do Mstarz readers think - is Bieber's inappropriate Instagram behavior insulting enough to get him permanently banned from the Philippines?
