The season finale ofThe Flash aired on the CW network. In the upcoming Season 2 of The Flash, is the future of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton), who is meant to become Iris-West Allen, with an upcoming new love interest named "Wendy?"

In our finale recap, Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett) and Iris chose to believe in their love for each other, instead of what was etched in stone. But when Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh) threatened Iris's life, Eddie knew he had to sacrifice himself and pull the trigger. While Eddie lied dying, his future relative, Eobard Thawne was being erased from existence. When the rift in the time-stream caused a worm-hole to suddenly form, the Flash had to get back to work and repair what was broken.

According to TV Line, the CW show is currently looking at female actresses and casting the major recurring role of Wendy. The role of Wendy is described as a "spunky, fun and funny" romantic interest for Barry Allen. Wendy and Barry will cross paths because she also happens to be a cop within the Central City Police Department.

If that's not all Iris has to compete with, Wendy also happens to be a bright and scientific-minded person. The casting call reads, "Think 'Felicity Smoak' from Arrow." Does this mean Wendy will have glasses and blonde hair too?

The character of Wendy will be introduced to viewers in Episode 2. In the comics, could she actually be Wendy White, aka Proxy? Wendy used to be the caretaker of Titans Tower with her brother, Marvin.

The show has been known to bring in other superhero characters from the comics. Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) appeared in the season finale, as did Firestorm (Robbie Amell and Victor Garber). Linda Park (Malese Jow) also came by as a potential love interest for Barry. But we knew that relationship was going to fail because Linda will one day become the future wife of Wally West, aka Kid Flash.

UPDATE: The site also states, the show is casting "the season-long role of a classically handsome, square-jawed hero in his 30s to early 40s, a slightly cynical man 'with an edge.' The casting call lists the character as "John Clark," which is an homage to the DC Comics letterer. Who could this hero be?
