Hip Hop artist and songwriter Frank Ocean is reportedly calling it quits after "Channel Orange" album.

Ocean has discovered new creative juice in writing novels. His interest in telling stories via novels has grown, NME reported.

"Some people focus more on sonics. Some people focus more on story. I focus on both sonics and story. But storytelling's a different thing. It's the more interesting part about making music for me, or making albums and songs and stuff. So much so that I might not make another album. I might just write a novel next. I don't know!" said Ocean to The Guardian.

Though Ocean might not hang up his mic completely, "This isn't a faux retirement. It's no bullshit. I was just making music yesterday. But I do think it would be f*****g legendary if I just made 'Channel Orange' last year, then put out a best-selling novel next year, then, you know, designed an arena in Stockholm in 2014!" he said.

Channel Orange was released on July 10, 2012. It was his debut studio album.

Meanwhile, the singer has received Grammy nominations in six categories. Whoa!

Ocean is humbled by the nomination itself and is grateful to receive one.

"Of course awards matter. It's like a player in any ball league... the Grammys are like the championship, and that's cool. It's cool to be recognised by your peers," he told the Guardian.

Ocean's long estranged father has sued him for $1,000,000. This was revealed by the singer himself when he Tweeted, "Father wanna sue me for a million. Like I owe him back child support. Weak individual bought me a swiss knife at 6yrs old then dipped on me."

The above Tweet has been deleted but he Tweeted other partly cryptic ones "I got his DNA though, maybe I inherited some of his karma too," said Ocean.

Earlier in June he had Tweeted, "Just found out my absent father's been cyberstalking me, hi dad." Ocean was raised by his mother, Katonya Breaux Riley in New Orleans.
