No - rapper Lil Wayne did not ditch Cash Money Records in order to pen a new deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation.

But considering Weezy's ongoing beef with Birdman, do MstarsNews readers actually like the idea?

On Saturday (June 13), the YMCMB superstar shocked fans with this "new partnership" announcement at KMEL's annual Summer Jam in Oakland, California:

But according to Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant, the #FWA hypeman was only referring to his recent deal with HOV's high-fidelity music streaming service, Tidal. Nothing more!

Still, several Twitter fans actually support the concept of Weezy switching labels - the New Orleans emcee needs to release more fresh tracks, soon!

@SayNoToInk: "Lil Wayne signing to Roc Nation is huge for hip hop."

@GbemiEreku: "Lil Wayne is with Roc Nation now. This is what he should have done since, take control of your career."

@robcurlymusic: "Lil Wayne is actually snappin again how he used to, and now he's signing with roc nation. This is exciting."

@TheDiLLon1: "I hope Lil Wayne has the same deal Jay Electronica has with Roc Nation. Cause then we'll never have to hear another Lil Wayne album."

@DJSquizzyTaylor: "Lil Wayne Signed To Roc Nation!! Let's Go!! My favorite two artist are now together!!!"

Well, maybe it'll happen one day...

Surprisingly, Barter 6 rapper Young Thug has yet to mock Wayne's latest Cash Money jab on Instagram. Perhaps the heated industry feud is finally simmering down?

Meanwhile, fellow hip-hopper Riff Raff just announced that the "How To Love" crooner might be featured on his upcoming sophomore album, Peach Panther:

"Drake might come through. Wayne, Weezy. I already got [Justin] Bieber on the album" (via TMZ).

And Wayne's latest tweets do not provide much "insider" info:

@LilTunechi: "Idk... Love hard."

Well, stay tuned as more details develop!
