Who should snag the coveted role of Christian Grey in the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' erotica novel "Fifty Shades of Grey?" In a recent Mstarz casting poll, fans narrowed their top three picks down to Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, and Canadian hottie Stephen Amell (among a slew of other fan favorites, these three Hollywood heartthrobs snagged the most votes). Rumors have it that James and producers are still nowhere near casting the official roles of Grey and his kinky sidekick Anastasia Steele... but take a closer look at the three actors fans wish they could see getting down and dirty on the big screen when the time finally does come!
Ian Somerhalder, 34, best-known for his role on the hit series "Vampire Diaries"
Some fans think that Somerhalder has the perfect look and attitude to portray the suave, handsome, and successful businessman Christian Grey. Those piercing eyes and silky brunette mane could probably do the trick, and his role as the sexy, "bad boy" vampire Damon Salvatore in the hit novel/television series "Vampire Diaries" leaves some fans swooning. The only set back would probably be his age - Grey is only supposed to be 27 and the start of the "Fifty Shades" trilogy. But Somerhalder already being in his mid-30s doesn't seem to affect many "Fifty Shades" enthusiast. In the most recent Mstarz poll, Somerhalder proves the ultimate fan favorite, snagging 27% of the votes with 481 out of a total 1,787 votes cast (so far). Rumors also have it that producers may have already approached Somerhalder a few months back in regards to him taking on the erotic role.
Matt Bomer, 35, best-known for his role on the hit series "White Collar"
Bomer hasn't had too many "huge" acting roles throughout his career, which could make him the perfect contender for Christian Grey. It's a known fact that "Fifty Shades" producers don't want a huge star associated with any specific film/television genre to take on the lead role. Bomer meets the part physically - he fits the tall, dark, and handsome description quite well and has a rather smooth and charming way about him. But just as Somerhalder, the only set-back would be his age... even so, Bomer won 23% in Mstarz's recent "Fifty Shades" poll, snagging 411 out of a total 1,787 votes. Among several other contestants, he ranks the overall no 2 top fan favorite. (FYI: in several past Mstarz polls, Bomer actually pulled ahead of Somerhalder).
Stephen Amell, 27, best-known for his role on the hit series "Arrow"
The handsome Canadian is in no way considered a "big name" in Hollywood (yet), but isn't that exactly what E.L. James and "Fifty Shades" producers are looking for? Amell has the look down, with his handsomely rugged physique and sensual smirk... and he definitely carries that mysterious, sexy air about him. Not to mention he's all for stripping down on the big screen (and who wouldn't want to see his chiseled abs ripped out from under a snazzy grey business suit?). The "Arrow" actor currently ranks the no 3 fan favorite to play Grey, trailing right behind Bomer. He also holds 23% percent of the vote, but with 407 votes out of 1,787.

Sarah: "I beg you casting crew... it should be Matt Bomer playing CG role... could not dream of anyone else... he is born CG.. .plzzzzz..."
Fez: "Ian Somerhalder for Christian Grey. He has it all... perfect physique, personality and the mysterious smile."
Dee: "It would break my heart if it anyone but Matt Bomer. He is Christian Grey!!!! Please E.L James!!!! Make me proud girl! Can't wait to watch the movie! HURRY lol."
Karina: "I personally think there is no one else that would fit the role better than Stephen Amell. I think Ian Somerhalder is overrated! We need a breakout star in this role! Stephen has my vote!!"
Emmy: "Ian is so perfect I've always imagined him playing that role... He has Christian's personality moves and charms."
Other Christian Grey fan favorites still include: Henry Cavill, Channing Tatum, Charlie Hunnam, and Ryan Gosling.
As for Anastasia Steele... Alexis Bledel, Lucy Hale, and Emma Watson still snag a majority of the votes.
