British boyband and teen sensation One Direction have reached the one million mark. The band's new album "Take Me Home" has sold one million copies, MTV News reported.

This is the second time they are reaching one million, after their first album "Up All Night" sold over one million copies in U.S.

This is an achievement for the band since the last such artist to make that push was in 2005, by Kenny Chesney whose two new releases sold more than one million in a year.

"Take Me Home" was released globally November 2012 by Syco Records and Columbia Records. The album has sold 1.04 million. While "Up All Night" was placed number four in the best-selling albums of 2012, "Take Me Home" stands at number eight, Billboard reported.

Singer Adele is crowned number one with her "21" selling 4.3 million copies and Taylor Swift's "Red" in the second spot selling 2.59 million copies.

The band had a successful 2012. The band will appear on the "X Factor" finale, Dec. 20 as the show votes a winner.

The band members all want to go home to UK for Christmas and spend some time with their family and friends, "I'm not really looking for anything for Christmas. I think we all kind of agree, we just like were all really looking forward to just going home and like spending Christmas with our family and friends, eating a lot, drinking a lot, sleeping a lot, just chilling. General chilling," said Niall Horan, band member.

One Direction will be releasing a video for their "Kiss You" video shortly with Jan. 7 being the rumored release date. Some lucky fans got a preview of the video at a fan event.
