Rockstar Games is catching cheaters on Grand Theft Auto for the Xbox and Playstation systems and they're doing so by taking it to the next level. The company has implemented a new system that vastly improves upon the old detection system and they hope cheaters will not prosper as much now. According to an official announcement on the Rockstar website, any attempt to tamper with the game will result in being banned.

"As part of our ongoing commitment to combat cheating and griefing, we have recently implemented new systems to allow us to more efficiently detect and target any players found running mods and cheat programs within GTA Online," Rockstar said.

"As a reminder, any attempt to tamper with the behavior of GTA Online by installing or executing mods, scripts, or other exploits, modifying the game files or manipulating the game in any way while it is executing will result in disciplinary action including but not limited to time in the cheater pool, bans and potential suspension of your account."

The old system was less of a technical one and was based more on players revealing the cheaters to moderators. On the Rockstar website, the gaming company gave directions on how to report cheating players. Those who wished to make reports would have to do is pause the game and select the online tab. They would then have to scroll down, select the "Player" tab and then find and select the player they wanted to report.

Players can still report cheaters with the old way but Rockstar hopes their new system will catch the cheaters before it even gets to that point. In case a rouge player gets away, you can also message Rockstar directly at GTAOnlineBanhammer@rockstargames.com.

Rockstar urges players to tell moderators what system they're playing GTA on, the cheater's gamertag, the description, the time and date, and if there are any screen shots or videos, those should be submitted as well

Do you think Rockstar's new system of catching cheaters will be effective?
