The first season finale of the Batman prequel, Gotham, aired on Fox. Before Season 2 gets underway, the cast and crew of Gotham, including Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), and young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) have been nominated for the 2015 MTV Fandom Awards.

In our finale recap, after a botched hit, Gordon (McKenzie) came to the rescue of Carmine Falcone just when Penguin was about to slit his throat. Trouble mounted for the detective as Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) returned with a vengeance and shot Sal Maroni (David Zayas) in the head. Elsewhere, Barbara confessed to Leslie that she murdered her parents and almost tried to kill her.

In the closing minutes, Falcone gave up his life of crime after Jim helped him reach a safe house. The Penguin (Taylor) took his revenge on Fish, grabbed her, and threw her off the roof; officially making him the number one mob boss. Bruce (Mazouz) discovered his father was actually hiding the Batcave.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf) and Bella Thorne (Scream) will host the show. MTV has added four new categories: Social Superstar of the Year, Animation Fandom of the Year, Best Fandom Army, and Best Revival Fandom. Gotham is up against Empire, iZombie, and How To Get Away With Murder for Best New Fandom of the Year

As we previously mentioned, the cast and crew of Gotham are heading over to 205 San Diego Comic-Con for Super Hero Saturday Night on July 11:

"Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment will again welcome fans into the worlds of some of DC Comics' greatest characters during a three-hour super-experience. The exclusive evening will feature a pilot screening of the highly anticipated new action series Supergirl, followed by a Q&A with stars and producers; plus, individual special video presentations and Q&As with stars and producers from Arrow, The Flash and Gotham.
