The infamous Doomsday has finally arrived... and mankind has survived! Many believed that today - December 21, 2012 (the winter solstice) - the entire Earth would implode, given that the ancient Mayan calendar supposedly predicted a "worldwide apocalypse" which would ultimately result in the end of the world. NASA recently tried to inform people that all of this "end of the world" mumbo-jumbo was completely ridiculous, but until today many people were still holding their breath in anticipation to see if earthquakes, tornadoes, and tsunamis would indeed devastate the earth. So while some Doomsday Preppers bow their heads in shame over all of time and money wasted (at least until the next end of the world prediction comes), check out some of these rather hilarious tweets sent out by fans prepared to live up the apocalypse.
Today (Friday, Dec. 21, 2012) might be a littler shorter due to the winter solstice, but as REM puts it - "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine."
@MarioBaloltelli: "Breaking News: The end of the world has postponed until Liverpool win the Premier League. Well, looks like we're all safe."

@AlexaGoddard: "If we can make it through the end of the world, we can make it through anything!"
How will Mstarz readers be celebrating the end of the world not actually ending?
