Coffee. Is. Wonderful. Unfortunately, there are so many myths out there about the cup of goodness that keeps more people away from it. Now, maybe that's a good thing because that means more for us, but since we're good people we figure we'll fill you guys in. Therefore, MStars News has gathered some of the top myths about coffee that are swirling around the Java-sphere, ones that you must stop believing.

Like, right now!

YOU LOSE WEIGHT WITH COFFEE
Per a report from Super Compressor, coffee only "slightly" increases your metabolism. Which means that it's not really used to help you lose weight. It does, however, "reduce your desire to eat for a brief time."

IT'S ADDICTIVE
It's not addictive – it's DELICIOUS. Stop judging us, folks. You're addictive!

Okay, maybe we're getting a little defensive. Pardon us while we grab a cup of java...

DARK COFFEE = MORE CAFFEINE
If you're looking for a real jolt of caffeine get yourself a cup of light-roasted coffee. Believe it or not, lighter roasts have been proven to have more coffee.

Furthermore, Super Compressor notes that McDonald's coffee has 9.1 milligrams of caffeine while Starbucks has, well, 20.

Therefore, Starbucks wins!

COFFEE CAUSES HEART DISEASE
Hogwash! The only way this could be true is if you have high blood pressure. Then, possibly, you could have a higher risk of heart disease.

IT STOPS YOU FROM GROWING
The publication notes that as old as this myth is, it's totally false. Which some MStars writers can vouch for, seeing as how one person here (this guy) is 6'2" and drinks about four cups a day.

So, now that you're (hopefully) feeling good about that coffee addiction adoration, go out and get yourself some... maybe with a comedian.
