On Friday, December 14 at approximately 9:40 a.m., 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot his way into the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut - ultimately killing 20 young students (ages 6-7) and six faculty members. A number of big-name celebrities, including Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Jamie Foxx, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Rock, recently banned together to release a powerful PSA that promotes the end to gun violence entitled "Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence." The devastating shooting in Newtown is just one of the latest high profile school tragedies caused by gun violence in the country - and several Hollywood stars are calling for an end to such unnecessary heartbreak.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns debuted its "Demand a Plan to End Gun Violence" online campaign with a star-studded PSA on Friday, Dec. 21 with the help of several A-list celebrities including: Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Michelle Williams, Courteney Cox, Ellen DeGeneres, Julianne Moore, Selena Gomez, Chris Rock, Jon Hamm, Will Ferrell, Aziz Ansari, Christina Applegate, Debra Messing, Elizabeth Banks, Brooke Shields, Kristen Bell, Jamie Foxx, Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Jason Bateman, and others:

Recalling the gun-related tragedies at Columbine, Oak Creek, Aurora, Virginia Tech, Newtown, and a slew of other locations throughout the country, the celebrities in the PSA video ask - "How many more . . . colleges, classrooms, movie theathers, houses of faith, shopping malls, street corners..." must the nation sacrifice before action is taken?

The PSA message is clear - "Enough. Demand a plan. Right now. We can do better than this."
