So, this is... weird. It's being reported that a half-eaten dolphin appeared on the shores of North Wildwood, New Jersey, just a couple of days ago. First, the front half of the dolphin washed up, leaving many both horrified and curious. You know, because it's not every day that a dead dolphin washes up ashore. Also, a half-eaten one...

It should be mentioned, however, that some hours later the tail washed up.

With that, we can only surmise that whatever was eating the dolphin must not enjoy the tails. Which is interesting because lobster tails are oh, so tasty.

Or, it's not interesting at all.

Anyway, it's being reported by NBC that around 9:45 a.m. the dolphin was discovered by 44-year-old Karissa Kerns and her 4-year-old son as a fisherman was reeling the dolphin in.

"I thought it was a sea turtle at first," Kerns told reporters. Of course, as they walked closer, they noticed it was a, well, a half-eaten dead dolphin.

Take a look at the video of the report below.

"The lifeguard flipped it over and you could see a shark had grabbed it and chomped right out of it. You could see the teeth marks and everything. It's spin was completely severed. It wasn't a full-sized dolphin and it wasn't a baby dolphin, it was mid-sized. At that point my mom took my son away quick because he was freaked out about it," Kerns said.

And naturally we can all agree that makes sense, no?

Readers, what do you think about this story? Does this mean that New Jersey now has a shark problem?
