Singers Beyonce and John Legend are some of the celebrities that are demanding change in the gun laws in U.S. in a video in the wake of tragic shooting incident at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

The black and white video is a minute-and-a-half-long. It has celebrities like Jamie Foxx, Chris Rock, Cameron Diaz, Ellen DeGeneres, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Aniston, Amy Poehler, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, Jeremy Renner, Sarah Silverman, Will Ferrell and Julianne Moore.

It calls upon U.S. President Barack Obama to bring change to the gun legislation to avoid the incidents like the in the Connecticut where a 20-year-old Adam Lanza took his mother's gun and massacred 20 first graders, and 6 women.

The celebrities in the video say: "How many more colleges, how many more classrooms, how many more movie theaters, how many more houses of faith, how many more shopping malls, how many more street quarters. Enough, demand a plan right now as a mom, as a dad, as a friend, as a husband, as a wife, as an American, as a human being. For the children of Sandy Hook, demand a plan."

The video includes celebrities recalling shootings including the Columbine in 1999, Virginia Tech in 2007 and Aurora in 2012.

The Demand a Plan has three goals:

1. Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America

2. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

3. Make gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for "straw purchasers"

The organisation hopes that this video containing a powerful message will bring pressure on the U.S. congress to enforce a tougher legislature to curb the usage of guns so frequent and randomly.

President Obama has however vowed for a tighter gun control laws in his recent speech after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
