Lady Gaga Documentary In The Works, 'Dream Come True'

Lady Gaga is set to document her life and share it with the world.

The "Born This Way" singer announced on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, that she will be filming a documentary about her life in a collaboration with famed photographer Terry Richardson.

"Merry Christmas little monsters! Terry Richardson@Terry_World is making a #LadyGagaMOVIE documenting my life, the creation of ARTPOP + you!" the pop singer tweeted.

The New York City native called the project a "dream come true" in follow-up tweets that also thanked Richardson for believing in her. She also acknowledged her fans who had requested more information on the release of her upcoming, highly anticipated album.

"Thank you for being so patient waiting for my new album ARTPOP I hope this gets u excited for things to come. I love you with all my heart!" she wrote. "I love you @Terry_World thank you for believing in me and my fans, I have looked up to you and your work for so long, it's a dream come true!"

The 26-year-old has led an interesting life since the beginning of her career and there have been enough buzz-worthy moments to make it onto the big screen.

Last month, she purchased the late pop singer Michael Jackson's costumes at an auction, which left many of his fans concerned about she will do with the items. She shaved her head as as a show of support to Richardson after his mother passed away in September, and days later, she had a tattoo inked on the back of her head in front of attendees at an event that celebrated the launch of her fragrance.

The "Fame" singer also has had more than her fair share of controversies to discuss on-camera.

The raw beef dress she wore to the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards designed by the late Alexander McQueen is considered one of the most iconic moments in the history of fashion. Lady Gaga has been constantly criticized by PETA and other celebrities for reportedly wearing fur, though she said in the past "I hate fur and I don't wear fur." She has also smoked marijuana on stage during her concerts, posed naked for her own fragrance ads and has had many of her concerts banned in several countries.

There's no word on when the movie will be completed, however, her next album is expected to be released in spring of 2013.

Gaga shared the news about the documentary on the same day it was announced that she landed on DoSomething.org's "Celebs Gone Good" list. Gaga was named the fourth most charitable celebrity of 2012 for the charity work she does with the Born This Way foundation.
