Singer Whitney Houston's death Feb. 11, was shrouded in mystery even after the coroner ruled it an "accidental drowning." But private investigator Paul Huebl has claimed that Houston was murdered by drug dealers. She owed the drug dealers around $1.5 million.

Huebl, a Hollywood private investigator, claimed that he came to the conclusion based on the FBI's evidence and a network of informants.  He also alleged that the star was a victim of "high powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs," National Enquirer reported via Radar Online.

He claimed that she was delivered cocaine to her room just a day before her death. On earlier occasions too she was subjected to harassment by dealers who wanted their money, Daily Mail reported.

The private investigator does not agree with the coroner's ruling that she died of accidental drowning, "Whitney's body shows classic defense wounds that would have occurred while she was battling for her life," he said. He noted that there were marks on her fingernails and hands that might be defensive wounds. There was evidence that her room in The Beverly Hilton was ransacked. He further claims that the Beverly Hills police did not do an in-depth investigation as it would be bad publicity for Beverly Hilton Hotel.

It was alleged that the troubled singer was doing drugs by late 1990s, as she was getting thinner and not showing up during events and interviews.

The "I Will Always Love You" singer has been called the "Queen of Pop"  and her career during the 1990s rivaled that of Mariah Carey and Celine Dion. Houston had dropped six studio albums and one holiday album. She has also acted in six different movies until her untimely death.
