Arrow Casting Mysterious Character for Season 4 Related to Oliver Queen's Mother Moira

The CW just revealed the Season 4 premiere date for Arrow (Wednesday, October 7th at 8 p.m. Eastern, for the record) and now we have some more news about a new mysterious character for next year.

The following comes from E!

"The CW comic book show is getting some star power next season! Arrow is currently looking to cast a big name for the guest-starring role of Patty, a mayoral candidate who is deeply committed to her city and willing to risk her life to stand up for the people. Described as a female in her 50s-early 60s, Patty is a peer and an old friend of the late Moira Queen, and was once close with Oliver and Thea. She is also a mother, and cares for her daughter above all else…any guesses as to who that daughter is?"

In other news, Stephen Amell held a Q&A on Twitter and one fan asked him to sum up the Season 4 premiere episode in three words. "What's wrong, Speedy?" was his reply. Could this be a tease that Oliver returns from his sunny new life with Felicity in order to help Thea? Is something wrong with his sister as a result of the Lazarus Pit?

In related news, reports persist of a match between Amell, a devout wrestling fan, and Stardust at WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view have been circulating for a few weeks now, and there has been a new development on this front.

WWE posted the following tweet from a live event in Pensacola, Florida on Sunday, which further teased a feud between the two men.

Stardust also tweeted two more messages to hint at a fight. This first one hints that Stardust wants to fight the Arrow, not Cody Rhodes vs. Stephen Amell:

According to a recent report, it's possible the two might not actually meet in the ring. Regardless, something is in the works, and Amell will reportedly at SummerSlam in some capacity for a significant angle.

Hollywood Life had exclusively reported through an anonymous source that the 34-year-old actor will square off with the 29-year-old Cody Rhodes aka Stardust at WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view, typically the second-largest wrestling event of the year behind WrestleMania, in August at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

“Steven is looking to get in the ring for the WWE and the match looks like it will take place at SummerSlam in NYC,” a source tells Hollywood Life.

WWE has already started building to this match. Stardust got into it with Amell during a recent episode of Monday Night Raw, and The Wrestling Observer subsequently reported that this may not have been just a one-time appearance. Amell has been campaigning to host Raw for a while, and the Observer reported that some planning went into his recent appearance. The report stated WWE is hoping to culminate a feud between the two at SummerSlam.

Amell and Stardust have since exchanged some more words via social media and through interviews on WWE television. But Hollywood Life reports that the planning for the match is already underway!

“The WWE and Stephen are deciding if he should wrestle as himself or Arrow. In the next few weeks that will be answered, but what can be answered now is that he will definitely have a match against WWE Superstar Stardust,” the insider confirmed to the site.
