In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Chad Hodge discusses Ben's new role, "I'll let you wait and see what Ben does with it. What I can tell you is that hopefully it was somewhat clear that Ben was coming from a life in Seattle where maybe he wasn't the happiest. He was a little grumpy and maybe didn't have so many friends. He didn't have a girlfriend. And here he's not only been welcomed into this group but sort of like put up on the stage and told, "You're important and you matter and we trust you."

Hodge teases if the Wayward Pines is itself good or evil, "Lot of the latter half of the season is about, "Is Wayward Pines a good thing, a bad thing? Is it as simple as good and evil, or not?" If we've done our jobs, you'll constantly be changing your mind about that.:
Wayward Pines returns June 25, Thursday at 9pm.
