There was once a time when Kim Kardashian thought her empire would crumble. That time happened to be a tumultuous one for the queen of the Kardashian throne. According to her, after her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries, the wife of Kanye West warned the rest of her family that their notoriety would dwindle and they wouldn't be making as much money because of the divorce.

She revealed she was paranoid:

"At the time when I was going through the divorce I did say to everyone, 'You guys, I think our careers are over. I hope you've saved your money," she said. "I was being very paranoid. I just took some time off and the time was really good for me. I cancelled everything. I had a book tour, I had a fragrance launch, I had everything that you could possibly imagine and I just cancelled it all and I took time for me."

Kardashian and Humphries got married back in August 2011. One of their biggest segments was Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event. It got millions upon millions of viewers. By October the two were divorced and the divorce was finalized in 2013. Not too long after she married Kanye West in a huge ceremony in Italy. Her paranoia was completely unwarranted and you can argue she is twice as big as she was then.

Kardashian took six months before making a move on West. She admitted this during an interview with Access Hollywood:

"And then, I think it was six months after I was newly single in like 2012, I was like why not? Like, what am I waiting for?" she continued. "I called [Kanye] because I'm sure it was really hurtful that I got married and, even though it's not like we communicated all the time, I knew what he was thinking. So I thought he was going to call me as soon as he knew that I was single again."
