R&B songstress Fantasia Barrino's recent controversial Instagram rant has some supporters of the LGBT community fuming. The former "American Idol" winner posted a heated Instagram message on Monday (Dec. 31) which seemed to suggest anti-gay marriage sentiments... Fantasia writes that the world has "gone mad" by legalizing weed and gay marriage (things which she insists are condemned in the Bible). Such remarks have sparked a viral outcry from fans and critics alike, prompting the 28-year-old songstress to release an official response/apology in regards to all of the negative, angry backlash.

The 2004 "American Idol" victor posted this controversial Instagram rant earlier this week:

"I Rise ABOVE IT ALL!!! THE WORLD IS GONE MAD. KIDS, THE GOVERNMENT THE church House... Everybody Trying!!!!!!! Its a lot that going on that the Bible speaks about we should Not be doing. Weed legal in some places, Gay Marriage Legal BUT YET IM JUDGED!!! I'm not doing Nothing for you... My Life!!!!"

The post has since been deleted, but not in time for fans to express their utmost anger and disgust over Fantasia's offensive (and bad grammer) words (although some supports did fully back her controversial claims).

@thetrudz: "Fantasia is a disappointment. Why insult your core audience based on religious dogma that you yourself do not even adhere to? Come on."

@HarrietThugman: "Fantasia... thou shalt not insult the gays when we were the only ones supporting that hyena screech of a voice of yours."

@KoriGiselle: "Fantasia can't read the bible. Who's interpreting it for her?

Such angry backlash prompted the singer's reps to release this official statement on Facebook:

"Comments made by Ms. Barrino through her Intragram account were recently taken far out of context. Ms. Barrino is not now, nor has she ever been an opponent of the LGBT community. She has supported and performed at numerous events that are sponsored by the LGBT community. Whether it's through a live performance or placement on social media, Ms. Barrino uses every opportunity to reach out and connect with her fans, all of her fans."

Did Mstarz readers note that "Instragram" is spelt wrong... Twitter fans sure did:

@DerekIsNormal: "I need to see misspelled words, bad grammar, & "big words" used out of context in order to believe an apology statement from Fantasia."

@TheXDExperience: "I JUST caught that. Fantasia's PR firm spelled it INTRAGRAM in this press release. Even her PR firm is dumb as hell!"

The Grammy Award winner then followed up the "Christopher-Boston PR" statement with her own, rather defensive apology:

"It has been brought to my attention that something I said was taken out of context. I, Fantasia Monique Barrino, don't judge anyone because I don't want to be judged. The gay community is one of my largest supporters. I support the gay community as they support me. Bloggers please stop misrepresenting the facts."

What do fans think about Fantasia's anti-gay marriage rant, and her recent attempt at backtracking such claims?
