Folks, are you in a funk? Well, it's the beginning of the week so we can only understand if you find yourselves in a rather dismal mood. But don't worry, Friday is quickly approaching and you'll soon be flying high above the clouds and living a happier life. But to get you out of that bad mood, MStars News is ready to give you some respite and help you through by helping you break five habits that could very well be contributing to your oh, so dour mood.

So, do you find yourself cantankerous and grouchy today (maybe more than usual?), earning you the label of "Worst Person in the World"? No worries—we're here to help!

Let's take a look at some habits to break to, well, break that bad mood.

NOT CONNECTING WITH OTHERS
We know that if you're in a bad mood the last thing you want to do is talk and/or connect with other people. But trust us, the effects are rather incredible, as Psychology Today reports that doing something as simple as playing with a pet or talking to a person you love can help you get out of your funk.

NOT EATING
As Americans, when do we ever turn down food? Honestly, we love it! Therefore, why deprive yourself of some chewy goodness when you're in a less-than-great type of mood? So, seriously, go eat something!

INSOMNIA
If you're in a bad mood, it's possible that you could just be tired. According to PT, "When we don't get enough sleep it significantly impacts our thinking, creativity, and especially our general mood."

Which basically means that we (this writer included) are always tired.

FEAR OF FAILURE
Well, yeah, this makes sense. If you're forever thinking that you're never going to amount to anything significant in this world, yeah, we can understand you being in a crabby mood. So, um, please don't think of heavy thoughts like that all the time. It's just not healthy, folks.

STRESS
Stress can weigh heavily on our moods, specifically because after we stress, it's pretty much all we think about it. So, please, breathe. Try and realize that in the end, all will be fine and you have the ability to take control. No matter the stress, it will pass in time. The sooner you realize that the sooner that bad mood will drift off and become a distant memory.

...until the next bad mood rolls around. Then you can just read this list over again.
