We're desperately trying to find out more news on the recently cancelled NBC series Hannibal and whether or not it will see new life after this summer's season three episodes come to an end. Will we see season four headed to an online streaming service like Amazon or Netflix? We recently found out that there's a 50/50 chance of this, but this week we're hearing rumors of a possible movie! Creator Bryan Fuller this week opened up about this possibility while also explaining that his new show, American Gods could interfere with making more Hannibal. Plus, the cast members' contracts are expiring soon, adding another bump in the road. Read more on all of this news below!

Speaking with Deadline recently, Fuller revealed that his plans for season four, which he's had in mind since the premiere episode of the series, would be a great fit for a movie's format.

"Oh yeah, the plan for the fourth season would actually make a wonderful psychological thriller if we contained it to a movie," the acclaimed head writer said. "I would love to do a Hannibal movie with this cast."

Speaking of the cast, Slash Film reports that leads Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen no longer have contracts with the show since their recent ones just expired. More negotiations might add too much effort to saving the series for another season, though the actors might surprise us and accept a deal early.

Even if they do sign on again, Fuller will definitely be busy with his new show, American Gods. Will the writer have time to do both shows?

"The question would be for the potential new distribution partner is how comfortable they are in waiting," he explained. "Because I do have an obligation to American Gods and a passion for American Gods, so I absolutely want to service that in the way that it needs to be serviced."
