Thousands of "Fifty Shades of Grey" enthusiasts have voted in several Mstarz movie casting polls over the past few weeks... and "Vampire Diaries" heartthrob Ian Somerhalder and "White Collar" conman Matt Bomer remain neck-and-neck fan favorites to snag the coveted role of Christian Grey. While former "Gilmore Girls" starlet Alexis Bledel reigns supreme in the Anastasia Steele polls, several fans have acknowledged that "Games of Throne" beauty Emilia Clarke would definitely make Grey's perfect kinky sidekick. Read on for further details as to why these four make awesome top "Fifty Shades" contenders and to take the latest Mstarz polls!
Somerhalder, Bomer, and Bledel have been mentioned in several "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie casting updates, but 24-year-old British thespian Emilia Clarke recently stirred up some "Fifty Shades" buzz of her own. Clarke definitely has the innocent, girl-next-door (not to mention naturally stunning) look, and her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen on the hit HBO medieval-fantasy series "Games of Thrones" provides her with a mysterious, powerful, and mesmerizing vibe.
Clarke once admitted that shooting nude scenes isn't really her "cup of tea," which means she might not feel comfortable taking part in such a sexual film. the But several fans still think she makes the perfect Anastasia Steele fit:
Emily: "Emilia Clarke!!!!! She's young, talented, fine with nudity/sex, pale, petite, big eyes, great body, delicate features, etc.....all the things Christian loves about Ana : )."
Leslie: "Emilia Clarke absolutely."
Amber: "Definitely Emilia Clarke!!!!!"
Wonder if novelist E.L. James would agree? Considering Clarke isn't such a big-name in Hollywood, meaning that she isn't typecaste with a specific genre role, it could be a huge possibility.
Meanwhile, Bledel still remains the top Anastasia Steele fan-favorite...

Bledel's innocent and down-to-earth demeanor - along with her fresh complexion, brunette locks, and striking blue eyes -has many "Fifty Shades" fans pining for her to snag the role of Anastasia Steele. The only problem in casting Bledel would be her age - Steele is described as a recent, 22-year-old college graduate. Considering Bledel is already in her 30s may present a problem later on in the film trilogy. Even so, Bledel still glows youth and charisma, which could greatly be used to her benefit. In the most recent Mstarz poll, Bledel won a majority 26% of the vote, beating out several other actresses including Lucy Hale, Emma Watson, and Ashley Greene.

Some fans think that Somerhalder has the perfect look and attitude to portray the suave, handsome, and successful businessman Christian Grey. Those piercing eyes and that silky brunette mane could probably do the trick, and his role as the sexy, "bad boy" vampire Damon Salvatore in the hit novel/television series "Vampire Diaries" leaves some fans swooning. The only setback would probably be his age - Grey is only supposed to be 27 at the start of the "Fifty Shades" trilogy. But the fact that Somerhalder is already in his mid-30s doesn't seem to affect many "Fifty Shades" enthusiast... in several recent Mstarz polls, he remains neck-in-neck will fellow fan favorite Matt Bomer. A sneak-peak trailer for Somerhalder's latest acting project - a series of six short films entitled "Time Framed" - also has some fans and critics buzzing that the short clip would make the perfect screen test/audition for "Fifty Shades." In a recent Mstarz poll, Somerhalder snagged 776 votes out of a possible 2,459 (32%)... beating out several other fan favorites including Bomer, Henry Cavill, and Chris Hemsworth.

Bomer hasn't had too many "huge" acting roles throughout his career, which could make him the perfect contender for Christian Grey. It's a known fact that "Fifty Shades" producers don't want a huge star associated with any specific film/television genre to take on the lead role. Bomer meets the part physically - he fits the tall, dark, and handsome description quite well and has a rather smooth and charming way about him. But just as Somerhalder, the only set-back would be his age... even so, Bomer won 28% in Mstarz's recent "Fifty Shades" poll, snagging 682 out of a total 2,459 votes. Among several other contestants, he ranks the overall no 2 top fan favorite (coming in right behind Somerhalder).
So what do "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans think? Although there are several different actors and actresses who could definitely take on the steamy roles, between the four mentioned above, who would make the perfect Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey?
