Doink the Clown was around during a weird time in wrestling. During the era of Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon, he was on the bizarre end of wrestling stardom in his full clown ring attire. Still, despite all of his weird turkey and blue collar gimmicks, Doink managed to stick out and become one of the more popular wrestlers from that generation. Sadly, Matthew Osborne, the man behind the Doink face paint, died from a drug overdose in 2013. Now his mother is suing WWE for ignoring all the brain injuries he sustained in the ring. She Vince McMahon knew the danger of concussions back then.

Doink's mother is saying in the lawsuit that the WWE didn't do much to help her son seek the proper recovery treatments. She says 2006's Wellness Program was not enough. Doink's mom believes it was inadequate and deceived her son by creating a false sense of security.

Doink's mom then went on to say that Vince McMahon turned a blind eye to injured wrestlers. She added that the warning signs were there and her son — along with other wrestlers — could have been saved. She cites examples the likes of Ultimate Warrior, Mr. Perfect, Crush, Bam Bam Bigelow, Eddie Guerrero, Randy Savage, Big Boss Man, Yokozuna and Chris Benoit as wrestlers who died too young and had the ability to be saved.

Doink the Clown died in June 2013. The autopsy revealed that the casue of death was an accidental drug overdose. It was reported that his girlfriend found him in her home where he was staying. At the time of his death, Doink was going around to wrestling conventions and having autograph sessions with fans.
