Matt Dallas, star of the hit ABC Family series "Kyle XY," has already checked-off two major points on his New Year's resolutions list - not only did the 30-year-old actor recently announce that he's openly gay on Twitter, but he also revealed to fans that he's happily engaged to popular musician Brandon "Blue" Hamilton! Although speculation had it that Dallas was gay, Sunday's simple "coming out" Twitter post confirms the rumors. Reports claim that the actor and his Atlanta music producer beau have been quietly dating since 2009.

Dallas tweeted this simple message and adorable Twitpic Sunday evening (Jan. 6):

@themattdallas: "Starting off the year with a new fiancé, @bluehamilton. A great way to kick off 2013!"

And several fans have been more than happy to express their support and excitement:

@amandalyntweets: "if this tweet means what i think it means...i'm ecstatic! and super proud to be a fan!"

@_littlewing: "CONGRATULATIONS!! :) I'm so happy for you! Wishing you all the best & much love. Xoxo."

@mattdallasworld: "So proud and happy for you both! Congratulations, love & blessings for a long life together."

Dallas (who was once allegedly romantically linked to "Mean Girls" actor Jonathan Bennett) is set to star in ABC Family's new series "Baby Daddy." Hamilton, who has worked with pop star Justin Bieber, was named Atlanta's Hottest New Producer and one to watch for in June's cover issue of X-Poszed magazine.

Michelangelo Signorile, Huffington Post Gay Voices editor-at-large and SiriusXM host, states - "Gone are the days of the 'Yep, I'm Gay' magazine covers. With celebrities making a spectacle of coming out, and thus focusing on the fact that they were in the humiliating and painful gay closet... The closet isn't going away any time soon. But one step toward dismantling it among public figures it to make it a difficult and embarrassing place to be. From the looks of the latest celebrity self-outings, that's perhaps starting to take hold."

Congrats to the happy couple!
